Sandra Medert has lived in the Atlanta area for 23 years. Sandra is a native of Puerto Rico and was born into a military family. At the age of two she moved from her hometown to live on various bases in Europe and the United States. As an adult, she lived in the U.S., Germany and the Republic of Panama as a military spouse. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters, Millie, Melissa, and Jessica, who were also raised as Army brats, and a step-son Matthew.
During her years as a military spouse, Sandra volunteered with organizations that focused on improving the lives of spouses and their families as well as English-Spanish translator for the multinational Officers’ Wives at the School of the Americas in Fort Benning, Georgia. Sandra moved to Henry County in 1994 and began working at the Atlanta Airport with the Air Force assisting families to bases in Europe as well as soldier deployments to the Middle East.
Sandra now works at Truffles Vein Specialists. She is very passionate about the work she does and enjoys working in the medical field. She and her husband Greg enjoy traveling and spending time with their families and their six grandchildren, who are the light of their lives. She also enjoys interior decorating, exercising, and satisfying her love for gardening in her spare time. Sandra and Greg continue to give back to the community by supporting and bringing awareness to important causes such as the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance and Habitat for Humanity.
Sandra has also volunteered for Prevent Child Abuse Henry County in their First Steps Program, which helps provide young mothers with the necessary tools and resources to help them keep their babies healthy and safe. She is grateful to be a part of such a great organization and cause. " I believe children are our most precious resources and it is our responsibility as adults to be their voices. As a community advocate, it is so important to bring awareness to this cause and see that our children are protected from any and all types of harm or abuse."
